I love this view of the live music landmark in the French Quarter of New Orleans. It's always fun to paint because it captures the colors and rustic feel of the FQ.

I haven't posted in a month! That's how busy I've been with summer travels and painting and life! After spending so much time on landscapes this summer, I felt like getting back to an old subject I haven't visited for along time... New Orleans. I had such a good time working on this.. I started on a red canvas, and worked loosely, letting the the red underpainting shine through. I love the contrast of it against the torquoise paint. It's available for purchase on Ebay.
